Sometimes, the use of social media can be the solution to those seemingly hopeless situations. In an abandoned animal shelter in the state of Alabama (USA), a charming little dog named Speck had been waiting for a loving human to take him home, giving him all the love he needed.

Whenever someone passed by his cage, the dog would rise with his snout between the bars and greet them with his little paw. Everyone stopped to give him two hugs and a “pawshake.”

The director of the Bullock County Humane Society, Desiray Miracle-Wilder, said it was almost impossible not to stop and greet this cute and well-intentioned dog. One day, probably feeling particularly creative, Desiray decided to capture this unusual incident with her phone.

Speck looks through the bars of his cage, while with his little paw, he tries to get in touch with the shelter director. The video reached hundreds of internet users and also managed to reach Speck’s future family.

The wounds on Speck’s snout did not alter his gentle and kind temperament. Despite having suffered in his life before ending up in the shelter, the little dog remained very trusting towards humans, and his only concern was to touch someone’s heart.

This heartwarming video caught the attention of Allie’s Hope For Paws Dog Rescue, who connected Speck’s shelter with his future family. Certainly, when the video was posted, adoption requests for Speck flooded in. Now, the little dog can finally frolic happily on a farm with Mike’s family and two other four-legged friends!
