Rico Soegiarto’s journey home in Denpasar, Bali took an unexpected turn when he stumbled upon a severely malnourished, nearly bald Siberian Husky, half-buried in the road. The dog’s body was marred with wounds, obscuring her breed. Witnessing her plight, Rico felt an undeniable urge to rescue her.

Already a caregiver to four rescue dogs, Rico couldn’t resist falling in love with this new, furry friend at first sight. He named her Hope, inspired by the glimmer of optimism in her sparkling blue eyes, despite her dire condition.

Hope’s road to recovery began as Rico brought her home. Rico dedicated himself to her healing, providing numerous medicinal baths and a nourishing diet to help her regain weight and stimulate fur regrowth. Rico’s remarkable efforts in nursing Hope back to health were truly commendable.

As time passed, Hope became more recognizable and her confidence grew, transforming into an unrecognizable beauty as her once-shattered coat began to flourish. A year later, Hope’s transformation was complete, and she emerged as a stunning, disease-free Husky.

Rico not only rescued and rehabilitated Hope but also welcomed her into his home as a beloved pet. Now living a life of joy in Bali with Rico and his family, Hope revels in her ‘second chance’ at life.
