Duncan, a boxer dog, was found wandering the streets with only two front legs.
Since birth, Duncan had malformations, causing his hind legs to be fused. Perhaps that’s why Duncan was abandoned. However, he is quite strong, adaptable, and gets around remarkably well with just two legs.
Quickly taken in by a family after being brought to the rescue station, Duncan’s fate took a turn when Gary and Amanda, the owners of the rescue farm, developed a deep bond with this brave dog. Witnessing Duncan’s joy while playing with Gary and Amanda, the adoptive family decided to relinquish ownership.
Duncan gets along well with other dogs.
Upon moving to a large house with a garden where Duncan could run and jump freely, Gary and Amanda discovered a health issue in Duncan’s uncle. Duncan’s two hind legs had impacted his spine, causing pain, so the only option was to amputate both disabled legs. Duncan’s desire to run and jump was undeterred by the fact that doing so would make it harder for him to maintain balance.
Duncan is truly a magical dog.
Duncan’s favorite food: peanut butter.
Duncan loves to run and jump like any other dog. He refuses to use a wheelchair and has always preferred to do things on his own, including climbing stairs.
You might see a deformed dog, but I see a true hero.
Duncan went missing when this video went viral with over 7 million views. Gary and Amanda’s car crashed as they tried to avoid an animal crossing the street. Gary and Amanda, along with two other puppies in the car, were able to escape with minor injuries, but Duncan was nowhere to be found. Flipping the car could have ejected him onto the street. Gary is very worried about the little dog. “I’m afraid he’s been seriously injured or even…dead.”
Pictures of Duncan were shared everywhere to find the dog.
When passersby discovered Duncan wandering, luck once again shone for Gary’s family. According to Amanda, Duncan has died and come back to life several times. Gary had to aggressively resuscitate and perform CPR (artificial respiration) to save Duncan’s life after he suffered two heart attacks.
