When I was a child, I had a very acute separation anxiety. It happens that we all miss our parents while they are away, and that includes our children as well.
Our pets can get very sad and miserable when we separate them from us. And any pet owner who has been away from their furry friends for an extended period understands how emotional they can become.
A woman had to go on a three-week work trip, leaving her Chow Chow pet at home. Obviously, the dog missed its owner a lot because the FaceTime session became extremely emotional.
As the woman’s daughter said: “My Chow Chow was chatting with my mom via FaceTime and telling her that he loves her. He looked terribly sad because my mom was away for 3 weeks for work reasons.”
While contemporary technology obviously is not a substitute, it can certainly help bridge the gap until pets and their owners can be together again. And I’m sure any pet owner who is forced to travel, whether for vacation or business, has probably checked in via FaceTime with their babies at home.
